Job Summary :
Digital Literacy Training Trainer
Job Requirements :
UNDP Afghanistan, through the Enhancing Gender Equality and Mainstreaming in Afghanistan (EGEMA) project, is implementing the We- engage initiative, an EU-funded effort to support the professional development of Afghan female graduates from Central Asian universities. The program provides National and International UN Volunteer (NUNV/IUNV) assignments to enhance employability, economic participation, and long-term career resilience in Afghanistan and Central Asia.
Given that current UNV assignments are limited to one year, the initiative prioritizes building essential skills to support Afghan female UN Volunteers in navigating future career opportunities beyond their temporary assignments.
UNDP Afghanistan, through the EGEMA project and the We-Engage Initiative, has identified a critical need to strengthen the digital readiness and technical capacities of Afghan UN Volunteers. In today’s fast-evolving digital environment, proficiency in digital tools, cloud-based platforms, artificial intelligence, and secure online practices is essential for operational efficiency and professional growth within the UN system.
To address this need, a Digital Literacy Training will be conducted to equip National and International UN Volunteers with practical digital skills that enhance productivity, enable effective remote collaboration, and foster innovation. The training will empower participants to navigate digital platforms confidently, optimize workflows using Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, utilize AI tools responsibly, and contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through technology-driven solutions.
This three-day training aims to empower UN Volunteers to become digital champions who can apply modern technologies to improve efficiency, enhance communication, and drive innovation within their host agencies. It will build the confidence and practical capability of participants to use digital tools effectively during their assignments and future professional careers.
Scope of work:
• Develop a structured digital literacy training plan tailored to the needs of National and International UN Volunteers, ensuring alignment with UN operational requirements and the objectives of the workshop.
• Design and produce accurate and up-to-date training materials, including presentations, handouts, toolkits, and digital guides, covering Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Artificial Intelligence tools, digital communication, cybersecurity, and the Quantum platform.
• Facilitate interactive sessions to enhance participants’ practical skills in productivity tools, cloud collaboration, and digital workflow optimization.
• Introduce and demonstrate AI-powered tools for innovation and responsible digital engagement, integrating ethical principles and UN data protection standards.
• Lead sessions on digital security and data protection, promoting safe online behavior, cybersecurity awareness, and responsible information management.
• Deliver targeted training on digital communication, visual design, and storytelling to improve participants’ ability to create professional UN-standard reports, presentations, and visibility products.
• Conduct pre-test and post-test assessments to evaluate participants’ digital competencies and measure learning progress throughout the training programme.
• Provide digital support materials to reinforce learning and enable participants to apply knowledge in their day-to-day assignments.
• Prepare and submit a comprehensive summary report capturing participant feedback, assessment results, key outcomes, and recommendations for future capacity-building initiatives.
Institutional arrangement: The Trainer will report directly to the EGEMA Project Manager and will coordinate and follow up with the UNV Programme Support Officer for all aspects related to training logistics, participant engagement, and performance monitoring.
All training materials must comply with UNDP’s Gender and Social Dimensions Monitoring Framework and align with the project’s guiding principles of Do No Harm (DNH) and Leave No One Behind (LNOB), ensuring inclusive, gender-sensitive, and context-appropriate delivery throughout the assignment.
Payment: Daily bases
Duration of the assignment: 17th, 18th and 19th of Nov 2025
Modality: Virtual (Remote delivery via Zoom or Teams platforms)
Frequency: Three days one time.
Daily Sessions: From 8:30 AM to 4:00 P
