Project Background and Objective of the assignment:

The Capacity Development Learning Facility (CDLF) 2024 initiative empowers UN Volunteers by addressing critical skill gaps identified through systematic needs assessments. The Leadership Skills for CDLF Workshop we scheduled from December 2 to December 4, 2024, will bring together 40 UN Volunteers from 9 UN Partner. The workshop aims to develop foundational leadership competencies, enabling participants to:

·      Enhance self-awareness and self-leadership.

·      Apply leadership strategies to effectively support peers and navigate organizational challenges.

·      Align their roles with the strategic objectives of their respective agencies and broader UN-wide goals, including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This three-day workshop is a vital component of CDLF's mission to foster professional growth, motivation, and empowerment among UN Volunteers. It equips them with the skills and confidence to act as change agents within their host agencies and communities, contributing to impactful outcomes during their assignments and beyond.

Scope of work: ·      Design and develop/ revise tailored training materials and programs that address identified needs, incorporating best practices in leadership skill. ·      Develop a comprehensive training plan tailored to the needs of 40 UN Volunteers, ensuring alignment with the workshop's objectives and the overarching goals of the CDLF program. ·      Facilitate interactive sessions on personal leadership development, focusing on enhancing self-awareness and fostering growth. ·      Empower participants through coaching techniques, equipping them with practical tools to support and inspire others effectively. ·      Lead sessions on navigating change, aligning individual roles with organizational goals, and translating strategic thinking into actionable plans. ·      Deliver engaging training sessions using a mix of methodologies, including workshops, simulations, and group discussions, to promote active learning and participation. ·      Create and curate training materials, including handouts, presentations, and digital content, that are current and relevant to participants' needs. ·      Conduct the Pretest and assessment capacity of the participants, before the training start up. ·      Providing post-training assessment of the participants. ·      Facilitate Additional coaching sessions to the participants, if such requests arise to ensure further alignment of practical sessions in the work environment.   ·      Support materials to reinforce learning. ·      Continuously engage with the UNV office Talent Acquisition team. ·      Provide a summary report outlining participant feedback, training outcomes, and recommendations for further development.

 

Institutional arrangement: The Trainer will work under the supervision and guidance of the UNV Country coordinator in Afghanistan and in close collaboration with Capacity Development team of UNV-HQ. Payment: Monthly basis/Daily Basis as per the company role Duration of the assignment:  1st December to 10 th December 2024 Duty station: Kabul

Experience and Skills:

·      A minimum of 7 years of experience in leadership development, training, or organizational development, with a strong background in designing and delivering impactful training programs for diverse audiences. ·      Strong understanding of leadership principles, management theories, and strategic thinking frameworks, with the ability to apply these concepts in diverse organizational contexts. ·      Demonstrated experience in conducting engaging training sessions and workshops, utilizing various instructional methods to cater to different learning styles. ·      Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with the capacity to convey complex ideas clearly and inspire participants at all levels of the organization. ·      Previous experience in leadership training and capacity building training development is an advantage.

·      Strong interpersonal and communication skills. ·      Deep knowledge of leadership, management principles, and strategic frameworks, with the capability to apply theoretical concepts in practical contexts. ·      Expertise in creating an energetic and supportive learning environment that encourages active participation and enthusiasm for learning. ·      Flexibility to adjust training methods and materials based on participant feedback and evolving organizational needs.

Language Requirements:

Proficiency in written and spoken English and fluency in local languages, Pashto and Dari is required.
